SWGISmall World Group Incubator (SWGI) regularly provides seed funding, mentoring and help to start and grow small companies. SWGI operates under the National Research Foundation’s (NRF) Technology Incubation Scheme in Singapore. SWGI focuses on three areas of technology innovation – clean tech, optical systems and advanced materials.

NRFNRF Technology Incubation SchemeThe National Framework for Innovation & Enterprise (NFIE) aims to drive innovation and entrepreneurship in Singapore through new initiatives that would spur the growth of technology commercialisation. The Technology Incubation Scheme (TIS) is a scheme under NFIE where the National Research Foundation (NRF) will co-invest in Singapore-based high-tech startups accommodated in a number of selected technology incubators.

Design for EnterpriseThe Design for Business Innovation Grant (DBIG) helps enterprises to embark on a specific design project that results in an innovative design solution, as a first step towards a more design-driven business. It supports up to 50% of the following consultancy fees within the full design value chain (excluding production). Companies can choose Design Consultancy services, in addition to one or more of the other prescribed services.

Design for EnterpriseThe Productivity and Innovation Credit (PIC) was introduced in the Singapore Budget 2010 to provide significant tax deductions for investments in a broad range of activities along the innovation value chain. It covers six activities, one of which is ‘Investments in Design’.

Spring SingaopreThe Innovation Voucher Scheme (IVS) connects public Knowledge Institutions (KI) with SMEs to encourage SMEs in adopting technology to develop their innovative ideas.
